YEP, Crash on I-35 (OKC), Hannity & The Titan Disaster

Have you heard of the Search Engine yep.com?

Search “Young Earth” 2026 and get some helpful results:

https://yep.com/web?q=%22Young%20Earth%22%202026

YEP gave 2 relevant results …

One is from Homeschool Blogger with my video Young Earth Today 2026:

https://homeschoolblogger.com/totalyouth/2022/07/27/young-earth-today-2026-my-3rd-rock-in-not-old/

Here is a more recent video defending the #Young_Earth #Y6K

https://youtu.be/YL7pr8eoegM?list=PLbffU3foCZmaIKcM3yn9ki_0B4KBBW_Wc

The second result from YEP is “What to Learn from the Decline of Young Earth Creationism” by Marc Sims from last month:

https://mereorthodoxy.com/what-to-learn-from-the-decline-of-young-earth-creationism

Marc Sims received his M.Div. from Southern Seminary in Louisville (KY).  He is the teaching pastor at Quinault Baptist Church in Kennewick, Washington.  One wonders if he’s visited the Ark Encounter or the Creation Museum in Kentucky and spoken with Dr. Terry Mortenson (Ph.D. History of Geology) and Dr. Nathan Jeanson (Ph.D. Cell Biology – Harvard).

In my convenience poll on the Age of the Earth, 30% held to a Young Earth:

https://www.linkedin.com/posts/jay-hall-m-s-b64526a_ageabroftheabrearth-activity-7284573511656906754-u5br?utm_source=share&utm_medium=member_desktop&rcm=ACoAAAHbbPwBBTN3-5NHy1Ow3Aqgq-KCW2E14ew

This is the national survey that I would like to see …

How Old is the Earth?

A) 4,000 years

B) 6,000 years

C) 8,000 years

D) 10,000 years

E) More than 10,000 years

So, I would question the very thesis in the title of Bro Sims article.

Al Mohler, the President of Southern Seminary, is a Young Earth advocate:

https://www.ligonier.org/posts/2010-ligonier-national-conference-albert-mohler

I highly suggest that Bro Marc get Dr. Madueme’s book on #SIN from Baker Academic.

Defending Sin: A Response to the Challenges of Evolution and the Natural Sciences

by Hans Madueme:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/0801098009

This book is not written to excuse unrighteousness, but rather defends the Young Earth view.  It received an Honorable Mention in Theological Studies from the Southwestern Journal of Theology Book Award in 2024.

According to Thomas McCall of Asbury Theological Seminary, "This is the most erudite and theologically sophisticated defense of 'young earth creationism’ that I have read.”

Contact Dr. McCall:

https://asburyseminary.edu/faculty/thomas-mccall/

Sims quotes Carl Trueman of Grove City College, whose new book is The Desecration of Man, as follows:

Whether evolution can be argued from the evidence is actually irrelevant to the reason most people believe it.  Few of us are qualified to opine on the science.  But evolution draws on the authority that science possesses in modern society.  Like priests of old who were trusted by the community at large and therefore had significant social authority, so scientists today often carry similar weight.  And when the idea being taught has an intuitive plausibility, it is persuasive.

The exact same thought applies to OEF’s or Old Earth Fallacies!

Sims brings up the classic objection of how did we get day and night before the #Sun was created on #Day4 ?  If you’ve been to a concert or basketball game lately, you’ve used the flashlight on ur phone.   Let me break this down to the base level …

[Earth] … … … <<<<< [light]

Makes sense, right?!

Another book Sims should read in Coming to Grips with Genesis which answers all the common objections to the non-traditional reading of the First Book of Scripture:

https://answersingenesis.org/store/product/coming-grips-genesis/

Consider Jesus’ AGE verses: Mk. 10:6, Mk. 13:19-20, Lk. 11:50,51.

“But at the beginning of creation God ‘made them male and female’” (Mk. 10:6).
So, there can’t be millions of years between Day1 and the creation of Adam.

If Jesus is young earth, we should be too.

To the best of my knowledge, there have been no formal debates on …

 ** Jesus was Young Earth.

** The New Testament supports a Young Earth.

Sims fails to mention the A+ documentary Is Genesis History? with Del Tackett (Truth Project):

https://youtu.be/UM82qxxskZE

For in six days [Day1 to Day6] the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but he rested on the seventh day.  Therefore, the Lord blessed the Sabbath day [not Epoch] and made it holy. (Ex. 20:11) … #EX2011 #X2011 #Six7

Sims decries #Creationistas who warn of the slippery slope.  “Deviate from a young-earth and you are on a slippery slope to deny the essential tenets of our faith; disagree on this issue and you do not take the Bible seriously,” he wrote, mocking Orthodox Protestants who take Genesis as Historical Narrative (“OPGANE”).

The slippery slope is real, for example,

**Rhett McLaughlin (of Rhett & Link fame)

 ** Seth Andrews (Deconverted)

Embracing Darwinism led to doubt which led to agnosticism or atheism.

And, of course, Darwin himself is case study on the #Road2Compromise

Hannity Flips the Vatican

Recently on his show I heard Sean Hannity say that he is no longer Roman Catholic:

The Titan “Nuclear Explosion”

Recently much discussion has surrounded the actual use of nuclear weapons.  Has America ever experienced a “nuclear explosion”?  Well, sort of …

The 1980 Damascus (AR) Titan missile explosion in Arkansas was triggered when an Airman dropped an 8-pound socket wrench from a height 80 feet, which bounced around and punctured the Titan II missile's first-stage fuel tank.  The fuel leak led to a catastrophic explosion on September 19th.  The explosion ejected the 9-megaton nuclear warhead 600 feet from the silo.  The blast fatally injured Airman David Livingston and injured 21 other personnel.  There was no radioactive contamination.

The explosion of the volatile fuel blew off the 740 ton silo door of reinforced concrete and steel!

An Infinite Earth ♁ vs. Reality ∞

Philosophers who thought the Earth was eternal ...

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eternity_of_the_world

However, this contradicts the #HeatDeath of the UNIverse:

https://youngearthscienceblog.blogspot.com/2024/05/the-bidenator-in-chief-vs-heatdeath-of.html

Many geologic processes are trumped up as unsolvable enigmas for the Global Flood Theory because of the time factor.  Does it take "forever" for Copper (i Cu) to form?  We read this from a Springer publication on Metals:

The majority of copper deposits were created by hydrothermal processes when metal sulfides were precipitated from hot waters in fractures and permeable rocks in the subsurface and at seafloor hydrothermal vents. ... Volcanic-hosted massive sulfide deposits occur in submarine volcanic rocks and are observed forming today at seafloor hydrothermal vents.

https://link.springer.com/chapter/10.1007/978-3-319-51175-7_2

Do we find signs of the Flood in the rock record?  The dramatic increase of the 87Sr/86Sr isotope ratio before the Cambrian and then the sudden decrease seems to correlate with extreme erosion and then massive deposition as the Deluge progressed.

https://creation.com/geochemical-evidence-flood

Supposed Pre-Cambrian "ice-age" deposits are better explained by submarine landslides:

Cryogenian [720M-635M] "glacials" have a close association with sedimentary rocks formed in warm climates.  Warm, not cold conditions have been interpreted from associated kaolinite, diaspore, redbeds, dolomite, and limestone with phytolites, as well as abundant carbonates with stromatolites and carbonate ooids. Flakestone, a very distinctive fine-grained carbonate facies with its characteristic broken-up clasts, is an indicator of the action of stormy seas and not an ice-covered sea.

https://creation.com/geochemical-evidence-flood

Henry Gee (In Search of Deep Time) makes this blunt admission:

Popular views of science assume that cause, effect, and purpose can be easily discerned: hardly a day goes by without reports of discoveries of genes for homosexuality, good motherhood, breast cancer or alcoholism; of the bones of ancestors and "missing links;" of explanations of why the elephant evolved its trunk or warnings that a certain food item causes a particular disease. Many of the assumptions we make about evolution, especially concerning the history of he as understood from the fossil record, are, however, baseless. The reason for this lies with the fact of the scale of geological time that scientists are dealing with, which is so vast that it defies narrative. [1]

One would wish that Gee applied more critical thinking to the very notion of Deep Time itself!

Young Earth Today 2030 - Alpha vs. Beta Got SciFry?

Today's topic is an Alpha Course booklet:

Is There a Conflict Between Science and Christianity? by Nicky Gumbel (2016):

TIME mag had an article "God vs. Science" and in it there was a quote from Paul Bloom: "Religion and science will always clash" (Gumbel, pp. 7,8). Bloom misrepresented & criticized Ben Carson in the Atlantic.  Bloom is a Psychology Prof at the University of Toronto.  Did Dr. Bloom separate twins connected at the head?

Ben Carson gave the Commencement Speech @ Emory University in 2012, how about Dr. Bloom?  I met Dr. Carson in Midland, Texas when he was running for President. Dr. Carson has criticized Darwinism and is sympathetic to the Young Earth view.  Carson on the evidence for #evo ...

It's just not there. But when you bring that up to the proponents of Darwinism, the best explanation they can come up with is "Well…uh…it's lost!"…I find it requires too much faith for me to believe that explanation given all the fossils we have found without any fossilized evidence of the direct, step-by-step evolutionary progression from simple to complex organisms or from one species to another species. Shrugging and saying, "Well, it was mysteriously lost, and we'll probably never find it," doesn't seem like a particularly satisfying, objective, or scientific response.

Talk about the persecution of scientists!

Ben Carson - Emory University Commencement Address (2012):

https://youtu.be/-3-veSwIWhw

Writing in the Atlantic, Paul Bloom claims that science is superior to faith:

"Religion has no equivalent record of discovering hidden truths.

So why do so many people believe otherwise? It turns out that while science and religion are as different as can be, folk science and folk religion share deep properties. Most of us carry in our heads a hodgepodge of scientific views and religious views, and they often feel the same."

"Scientific Faith Is Different From Religious Faith - Not all beliefs are equal"

by Paul Bloom (11-24-15):

https://www.theatlantic.com/science/archive/2015/11/why-scientific-faith-isnt-the-same-as-religious-faith/417357/

Solomon was a scientist, Dr. Bloom should read 1 Kings 4:29-34.

Modern Science in the Bible by Ben Hobrink is a great resource - it was published by Simon & Schuster!!

https://www.amazon.com/Modern-Science-Bible-Amazing-Scientific/dp/1439108927

Former evolutionist Ben Hobrink lives in the Netherlands and works with Open Doors.

He now holds to the traditional view: Creation In Six Days #CISD a Global Flood and a  youthful planet.

Consider the Jewish health regulations.  Job said the earth hangs on nothing (Job 26:7).  Heb 11:1-3 provides this insight: "Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. This is what the ancients were commended for. By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God’s command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible."  I can't see a quark with my naked eye.  In Job 15:15, we learn that even "the heavens are not pure in his sight."  That is totally consistent with supernovas, yet contrary to Aristotle's view!

https://adamslostdream.blogspot.com/2009/10/bible-astronomy-for-brainiacs.html

The remedy to Brother Nicky's book is Six-Day Creation by Robert Gurney.

https://www.amazon.com/Six-day-Creation-matter-believe-Choices/dp/1846250978

This is also a short book that came from Britain.  Dr. Gurney was born in Burma and  received his medical training at Bristol. He's worked in Israel, Tanzania and Kenya and was a general practitioner in Devon.  Gurney's book is PC, Pro-Creation (Creation In Six Days, Global Flood & Young Earth). #CISD

Nicky brings up the Galileo affair (p. 8).  I would argue that one can make a Biblical case for heliocentrism:

https://adamslostdream.blogspot.com/2009/10/bible-astronomy-for-brainiacs.html

Gumbel rocks with Galileo and noted that, "... there have certainly been periods in the history of Christianity when the church has opposed the results of scientific study. Galileo, the seventeenth century Italian astronomer, found himself in conflict with the Roman Catholic Church over his discovery that planets revolve round the sun. He was tried by the inquisition in Rome, ordered to recant and spent the final eight years of his life under house arrest"  (Gumbel, p. 8).

I'd recommend 7 Myths by my friend Michael Keyes ...

Unbelievable: 7 Myths About the History and Future of Science and Religion by Michael Newton Keas:

Francis Schaeffer points out that the opposition to the Copernican theory was not based on scripture but on Aristotle’s views:

When the Roman Church attacked Copernicus and Galileo (1564-1642), it was not because their teaching actually contained anything contrary to the Bible. The church authorities thought it did, but that was because Aristotelian elements had become part of church orthodoxy, and Galileo’s notion clearly conflicted with them. In fact, Galileo defended the compatibility of Copernicus and the Bible, and this was one of the factors which brought about his trial.

A good synopsis of the Galileo affair may be found in chapter ten of Dinesh D’Souza’s What’s so Great about Christianity?

Gumbel spoke of the Scopes "Monkey" Trial, "Persecution of scientists did not end in the seventeenth century. As late as 1925, John T. Scopes, a high-school teacher from Drayton, Tennessee, was prosecuted for violating the state law by teaching the theory of evolution" (Gumbel, p. 8).

One of my earliest published papers on origins was on the Scopes Trial.

"The Scopes Trial and After" by Jay Hall (Vol. 2, No. 2, 1979):

https://www.arn.org/orpages/orindex.htm

The Real Truth about the Scopes Trial is found in Monkey Business by Marvin Olasky of World Magazine.  Scopes got dragged into a publicity stunt to promote the town of Dayton.  He was no activist for Darwinism, he wound up in Venezuela with Gulf Oil.

https://www.thriftbooks.com/w/monkey-business-the-true-story-of-the-scopes-trial_john--perry/520890/?resultid=bc745af4-5c39-4ba6-9cae-523a994ce60c#edition=4486074&idiq=3736330

The supposed evidence for evolution given in the trial has long been abandoned.  If George McCready Price (d. 1963), who was quoted at the trial, had been able to appear the results may have been vastly different.  He was the author of The New Geology (1923) which refutes Deep Time:

https://documents.adventistarchives.org/Books/NG1923.pdf

Price was teaching in England at the time of the trial (Monkey Business, pp. 126, 127).

While discussing the Scopes Trial there's a typo in Gumbel's work (p. 8):

  DRAYTON not Dayton (TN) ... #LetsGo_DayTon ‼

For seventeen years Dr. Kurt Wise taught at Bryan College in Dayton, Tennessee.  He earned a Ph.D. in Paleontology from Harvard and studied under Stephen Jay Gould (d. 2002).

https://creationwiki.org/Kurt_Wise

The first edition of Nicky's book came out in 1994, yet this typo was not caught.  This is the 2016 edition.  I take it as a sign that many fail to #DYOR Do Your Own Research and consider the info that you find from Answers in Genesis, Creation Ministries International, the Institute for Creation Research and the Creation Research Society.

  AiG  https://answersingenesis.org

  CMI  https://creation.com

  icr  https://www.icr.org

  CRS  https://www.creationresearch.org

On page 9, Nicky talks about miracles: "... it is argued that the assured results of modern science are in direct conflict with the teaching of the Bible.  Some would say, for example, that modern science shows that miracles do not happen, whereas the Bible is full of miracles."  Brother Nicky should look into The Case for Miracles by Lee Strobel:

https://www.amazon.com/Case-Miracles-Journalist-Investigates-Supernatural/dp/0310259185

Brother Nicky goes universal on us, "Mathematician, physicist and astronomer Galileo Galilei (1564-1642) was the founder of modern mechanics and experimental physics.  He argued that the earth was not the center of the universe" (Gumbel, p. 12).  In the Journal of Creation, physicist Russell Humphreys wrote a paper providing evidence that the Milky Way is near the center of the universe!

"Our galaxy is the centre of the universe, quantized redshifts show" by D. Russell Humphreys, Journal of Creation 16(2):95–104, August 2002:

https://creation.com/our-galaxy-is-the-centre-of-the-universe-quantized-redshifts-show

Nicky quotes Richard Dawkins, "God almost certainly does not exist" (p. 9).

Is Gumbel aware of the 1986 Oxford Union Debate between Dawkins and creationist  AE Wilder-Smith, who had three earned doctorates? (Biological Essentialism, pp. 219-224):

https://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/biological-essentialism-jay-hall/1140135320

What was the verdict?  115 (or maybe 150) votes for the Creation side and the two Darwinists got 198 ... not exactly a wipe-out.

Nicky rightly points out that Science has a Christian basis (pp. 9-11).  God gave us the wisdom to understand the Equations of Creation.  We read this in Jeremiah:

This is what the Lord says: "If I have not made my covenant with day and night and established the laws of heaven and earth, then I will reject the descendants of Jacob and David my servant and will not choose one of his sons to rule over the descendants of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. For I will restore their fortunes and have compassion on them." (Jer. 33:25,26)

One example of science *in* the Bible is the expanding Cosmos:

He sits enthroned above the circle of the earth,

and its people are like grasshoppers.

He stretches out the heavens like a canopy ... (Is. 40:22)

He alone stretches out the heavens

and treads on the waves of the sea.

He is the Maker of the Bear and Orion,

the Pleiades and the constellations of the South. (Job 9:8,9)

See also Is. 45:12, Is. 42:5, Jer. 10:12 and Zech. 12:1.

Nicky presents Isaac Newton as an example of a believing scientist (p. 12).

Newton held that mankind has existed for around six thousand years:

https://creation.com/isaac-newton

Gumbel quotes Physicist turned theologian John Polkinghorne (d. 2021), who also said, "If the deep-seated congruence of the rationality present in our minds with the rationality present in the world is to find a true explanation, it must surely lie in some more profound reason which is the ground of both. Such a reason would be provided by the Rationality of the Creator."

https://adamslostdream.blogspot.com/2011/05/michio-kaku-epic-fail.html

Nicky plugs Francis Collins (pp. 15,31).  In Beverly Hills in 2006, Dr. Ben Carson was part of a panel discussion on evolution along with Richard Dawkins, Daniel Dennett and Francis Collins.  Dr. Carson opposed evolution.  Dr. Carson received the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2008.

https://adamslostdream.blogspot.com/2013/09/ben-carson-friend-of-creation.html

Amazingly, Collins has apologized for the lockdowns:

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/a-pandemic-mea-culpa-from-francis-collins/ar-BB1h18DK

Will the miracles never cease?

On page 16, Nicky mentions David Hume (d. 1776).  Hume, surprisingly gave the #YoungEarth view a fair hearing.  See my book Is a Young Earth Possible? (pp. 104,105):
